their taxes will go one up. i think the biggest impact would be a change in the tax code, including lumbering corporate taxpayers, but eliminating the loopholes. and that would eliminate the opportunity for, for example, private equity and hedge fund managers to follow under capital gains, which of course is much lower than ordinary income and have to go to ordinary income. if you lower the corporate tax, you create a better environment for business and perhaps if they don't feel the strain on their shoulders that they are going to see higher expenses in terms of their tax rates, they will likely put the money to work in terms of hiring more people. so i think the change in the tax code is one very significant idea. remember, these companies are facing an increased speed, and increase tax surrounding health care. that's another issue i hear all the time from small business at the expense of health care has risen considerably. just recently will continue to rise. so if we were to actually see a change not health

now, as for those specifics on taxes, i go back to the last time we successfully had major tax reform which was in 1986 with ronald reagan as president. he didn't come out with all the specifics. he worked with the congress behind the scenes, and they achieved meaningful tax reform because they kept those discussions private, they didn't draw public lines in the sand and therefore, they emerged successful. successful pattern to follow, ronald reagan's. on the other hand, you had the debt limit talks in 2011 where president obama in the middle of talks never, until this day, has gotten specific. we don't know if he offered to raise the medicare retirement age. we don't know how much he said he would cut medicare and enact entitlement reform. so he did the opposite. he went into a serious negotiation not as a candidate but as the president and never got specific. it's one of the reasons we never got a big debt limit deal. so i think mitt romney actually is following the reagan pattern. the question is who when it comes to real negotiation with congress will follow through and get it don

we do need tax reform. we've been packing about tax reform for a long time. why is that there is an opportunity for certain people to manipulate the number of pay a lower rate? because there's too many loopholes. a lot of experts, economists say if you're to lower corporate taxes to a level that makes it a favorable environment for business, business will start hiring again. if you lower corporate tax, you could disseminate the loopholes in some of these easy ways for people to pay much lower base and that would broaden the tax base and lower the rate. i mean, something like this is an idea that's been bandied about a long time and yet no one is moving on it. even the president to complain people don't pay their fair share hasn't changed the tax code. to complain people are not paying their fair share and not do anything about the tax code seems strange. so i do think that the deficit is a real issue. you cannot borrow forever. look what's going on right now as we speak in spain and italy and throughout europe. when you have a country who has debt of 120 time
